According to Thurman, Martinez was put into a medically induced coma and placed on a ventilator the day after her hospital admission but did not recover. Family and friends surrounded her, including her sister Lindsey Cooper.<\/p>\n
Cooper announced Martinez’s passing on Facebook and described her as having a bright personality with a loving spirit that made everyone feel special. She expressed comfort in knowing Dolly is now reunited with their late father.<\/p>\n
Martinez appeared in Season 10 of “My 600-Lb. Life” on TLC, which highlights individuals struggling with morbid obesity. Her episode covered her battles with food addiction and mental health issues while documenting her use of supplemental oxygen.<\/p>\n
Though she was not approved for weight-loss surgery by the end of her episode, Martinez successfully lost 40 pounds after beginning at 593 pounds.
