The story begins with three bulls of varying seniority discussing the arrival of a new peer, with each stoutly declaring they will not surrender any of their cows to the newcomer. The eldest, middle, and youngest bulls all insist on protecting their respective shares of the herd, asserting their dominance based on their time spent at the ranch. However, their bravado quickly vanishes when an enormous 4,700-pound bull arrives, causing the two older bulls to immediately backtrack and offer up their cows to avoid a physical confrontation with the massive beast.
Watching this display, the smallest bull begins snorting and pawing at the ground in an aggressive show of force. The older bulls, fearing for the youngster’s life, urge him to stand down and share his meager portion of the herd to stay safe. To their surprise, the small bull reveals that he has no intention of fighting for his cows and is happy to give them all away; his aggressive posturing is simply a desperate attempt to ensure the giant newcomer recognizes him as a fellow bull rather than mistaking him for a cow.
The narrative then shifts to a separate humorous tale about a mother cow and her four calves, where the first three are named Rose, Lily, and Daisy because petals from those flowers fell on their heads at birth. This charming pattern is abruptly broken when the fourth calf approaches and speaks in unintelligible grunts. The mother cow quickly tells the calf to be quiet, addressing him as Cinderblock, implying that his namesake object fell on his head during his birth with far less delicate results.
