Ryan Gosling & Eva Mendes: From Place Beyond the Pines to Life’s Sweetest Moments
Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes began dating after portraying a couple in their 2012 crime drama A Place Beyond the Pines. Reflecting on their relationship, Ryan told Hello three years later, “I know that I’m with the person I’m supposed to be with,” adding that his favorite thing about Eva is… simply that “she’s Eva Mendes.”
Life with Eva and their daughters Esmeralda and Amada is pure bliss for Ryan. In a 2016 Good Morning America interview, he described it as “walking through a field of flowers every day… I live with angels. It’s a ray of sunshine in a dark time.”
At the 2017 Golden Globes, Ryan dedicated his win for La La Land to Eva and her late brother Juan Carlos Méndez Jr., acknowledging all Eva managed at home while he pursued his career. “If she hadn’t taken all that on so I could have this experience, it would surely be someone else up here other than me today. So sweetheart, thank you,” he said.
