Mormon Wives’ Star Reveals Season 5 Update After Scandal Shuts Down Filming

Filming for Season 5 of “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” has been delayed due to an investigation into Taylor Frankie Paul’s alleged domestic violence. Cast member Chase McWhorter commented on the uncertainty of resuming production.

Production Halt

The delay follows a last month’s confirmation that filming stopped because of an investigation into a domestic violence incident involving Paul and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. Draper City Police noted that allegations were made by both parties, with contact occurring on February 24th and 25th.

Cast Concerns

Some cast members reportedly expressed discomfort filming with Paul during the investigation in a meeting with ABC executives. They described videos of Paul’s behavior as “distressing” and “upsetting,” heightening their concerns.

Revealing Footage

On March 19, footage emerged showing Paul attacking Mortensen with metal chairs while her young daughter was present. The video resulted in Paul being arrested and pleading guilty to aggravated assault under a deal dependent on probation conditions.

Following the video’s leak, ABC canceled Paul’s upcoming season of “The Bachelorette.” Additional investigations followed, leading Mortensen to file a restraining order against Paul, later gaining temporary custody of their son.

In recent developments, Paul filed for a temporary restraining order against Mortensen, accusing him of assault and harassment. This legal battle marks the latest chapter in their ongoing conflict
