After ABC canceled season 22 of The Bachelorette, Taylor Frankie Paul responded to a supportive message from Doug Mason.
In an Instagram video on March 20, Doug, 28, said, “In light of everything that has happened, I am just sending prayers to Taylor because that was her moment and her moment was blocked. All we can do right now is just be hopeful, and I am headed off to run to watch the sunrise.” He added, “I hope you guys have a great day, and let’s stay positive and show nothing but support for people in need.”
A fan account for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives shared Doug’s video, and Taylor, 31, commented with a bandage heart emoji, writing, “Aw my heart goes out to him. So sweet.”
ABC canceled the season on March 19, days before the planned March 22 premiere, citing a newly surfaced video showing Taylor assaulting ex Dakota Mortensen in 2023, with her daughter crying in the background. At the time, Taylor faced multiple charges, including aggravated assault and child abuse, and later pleaded guilty to aggravated assault while the other charges were dismissed.
A representative for Taylor told Us Weekly she is “very grateful for ABC’s support” while prioritizing her family’s safety and security.
